R2: 2013

The R2:2013 standard is the leading standard for electronics repair and recycling. The
R2:2013 Standard provides a set of processes, safety measures, and documentation requirements for
businesses that repair and recycle used electronics. R2:2013 facilities are rigorously and independently
audited with an emphasis on quality, safety, and transparency.

Our R2:2013 certification ensures our customers that we have demonstrated through audits and other
means that we continually meet specific high environmental standards and safely manage used
electronics. Once certified, we receive continual oversight by independently accredited certifying body
that holds Simon Metals to the R2:2013 standards. (Tacoma facility only)

E-Cycle Washington Program

e-cycle washington

E-Cycle Washington is a program run by Washington State Department of
Ecology. E-Cycle Washington is a free program that makes it easy for Washington residents to recycle
their broken, obsolete, or worn-out electronics. Electronic products contain toxic chemicals that should
be kept out of the landfill and valuable materials that can be recycled.

As a Preferred Processor, Simon Metals is contracted to provide processing services to meet the
requirements in Chapter 173-900 WAC. (Tacoma and Vancouver facilities)

Oregon E-Cycles State Contractor Program

NCER uses a competitive process to select recyclers for the
State Contractor Program (SCP). All recyclers are required to have a third-party audit certifying their
compliance to the Oregon Environmental Management Standards.
As a State Contractor, Simon Metals meets DEQ’s Environmental Management Practices. The practices
ensure electronics are recycled in a way that protects human health and the environment. (Vancouver
facility only)
